"You don't need to do it all today. You just need to do one thing - and let that one thing be enough.” - Rebecca Ann

Feeling Overwhelmed by Everything On Your Plate?

You're not alone. That mile-long mental to-do list - the one that includes "declutter the garage, eat better, start meditating, call the accountant, and maybe finally learn how to use that slow cooker" - can leave you feeling like you need a nap before you've even started.

But here's the truth: you don't have to do it all. In fact, trying to do everything at once is what keeps you stuck.

So, what if you just picked one thing?

Why "One Thing" Works When Overwhelm Hits

When everything feels urgent, our brains go into overdrive. We end up spinning our wheels, procrastinating, or doing a whole lot of.... nothing.

But here's the magic of choosing one thing: it quiets the noise. Suddenly, the mountain of "everything" shrinks down to one small, doable step.

Maybe that one thing is:

  • Clearing a single drawer.

  • Going for a five-minute walk.

  • Drinking a big glass of water.

  • Writing a thank-you note.

Tiny actions don't feel like much at the moment - but they create momentum. And momentum is what gets you out of that heavy, stuck feeling.

How Picking One Thing Helped Me Rebuild My Life

After my husband died, I felt like I was drowning in "shoulds."

I should handle the paperwork.

I should start eating better.

I should figure out what the heck my future looks like.

It was crushing.

So, I gave myself permission to pick up one thing at a time. One drawer to sort. One healthy meal. One tiny habit.

And here's what I learned: motivation doesn't show up first - movement does. The second I started with one thing, everything felt lighter.

Your Turn: Pick One Thing Today

Here's your challenge: choose ONE thing.

It doesn't need to be dramatic or perfect. It just needs to get you moving.

Write it down. Do it. Notice how it feels to have done something instead of nothing.

Want Support Picking Your "One Thing"?

Sometimes we need a little accountability - and that's exactly why my Monthly Mini Habit Challenges are for.

Each month, we focus on one simple daily habit for 30 days. It might be a "Soul Strolls" walking challenge, a "Hydration Glow-Up," or even a "Clear One Thing" decluttering reset.

Final Thought

You don't need to do it all. You just need to do one thing - and trust that one thing will lead to the next.

Because sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply begin.
